Does Commission Junction give you credit if you use url redirection?

For some odd reason I have never received a commission through CJ by using url redirection. I've been trying to promote Blockbuster Online for quite some time now and I haven't received one conversion even after hundreds or even thousands of clicks. Is it because CJ won't give you credit if you redirect the url? I'm using the tool at the link below. It basically creates a PHP file which I name index.php and place in a folder called "free". So basically, my affiliate link is http://www.mydomain.com/free.

yeah either your traffic is total bullshit or they're just scrubbing on a ridiculous scale. url redirection shouldnt make a difference
 
cj is retarded. go w/ a real network and you wont have to deal with bullshit like this.

CJ is the leading affiliate network in the world. Just because you cannot sell even a single product does not make them shitty, it makes you a shitty marketer. Stick to zip submits.

To the OP, no, redirects work fine.
 
With CJ they can claim using a redirect from the traffic source is "forcing clicks" and not pay you. They say you have to have a landing page. I'm not saying that every advertiser will claim this but I had an incident about 3 years ago that the advertisers were trying to get out of paying everything they could. About $40k for mortgage leads that were generated from organic traffic they claimed because I wasn't using a lander they weren't going to pay.

It never ceases to amaze me. No matter how much people read about how bad CJ is they always have to get stung themselves. Myself included :)

Smaxor - If he's just sending traffic from his own page to Blockbuster through a redirect, there will be no problem. In fact, even if you're doing some black-hat SEO and redirecting someone straight to the offer, I don't think it matters anymore. I know CJ's network quality team pretty well, and I think that they would side with the affiliate if an advertiser tried to screw an affiliate out of $40k - After all, that's $12k of legitimate revenue for CJ that an advertiser is trying to reverse. Network quality can be reasoned with as an affiliate, and I've seen that from both the affiliate side and the advertiser side (reporting someone who seemed to be breaking a rule, but wasn't actually).

Shady lead-based merchants will try to avoid paying affiliates in any network.

As for CJ being shitty, the only issue I've ever had was one merchant not paying for a month or so, and a CJ media private offer taking forever to pay after they pulled an offer without notifying CJ (though I was split testing the offer with the same offer at RevenueLoop, and they pulled the same shit on RevenueLoop and "claimed" to have notified them, too).
 
What do your stats on CJ show? Even if they were scrubbing I would think you would see the corrections in you commission detail report.

Also check the "Clicks from invalid links" report and make sure your link is correct. Their help center says commissions aren't paid on invalid links, although I've found that to not necessarily be true. It may be at the merchants discretion to pay or not on those clicks.

Not the case - they are banning cloakers left and right for redirecting direct to the merchant.
