An app that allows you to see where multiple synched phones are in a given area? I'm about to do a couple music festivals with about 10-20 of my friends and someone always gets lost in a sea of 50,000 - 100,000 people. Something that has a map or even just shows distance and direction to everyone else.

It was done quite a while ago - way before iPhones & Android in fact.

If I remember correctly it was called something with a funny acronym - SMS I think.?

"Meet left side of Dance Stage" "4pm outside bar x" etc.

Every tried this in a sea of 100,000 people when SMS becomes jammed and you cant even make phone calls? I did Osheaga last summer which was only about 50k people or so and SMS was delayed by more than an hour. Phone calls were impossible because well... its a music festival good luck hearing shit and 50% of the time the call just failed.

Group.me

It's a group chat which will also plot you guys on a map but I don't recall the map being to detailed.

IF SMS and calls were not working, was the data side working? Cause if it wasn't, it would be pointless. But if it was, then that Find My Friend App looks like a winner.
