Domain Ranking and Redirects

I'm sure I've seen this before but can't find out how to do it. If I redirect a domain to another site I own, can I still get the redirected domain to rank in Google?

Huey, yes you can get the redirected domain to rank in google.

this may affect the first domain pr (the redirected domain) if is this that you are asking.
You can do it i think directly through your registrar control panel

Sounds great! What about a website you don't have control over? Like you redirect to a website you don't own? Can you still rank that redirect?
