Don't grab Americans yo

NY Times said:
The gunmen had just refused $1.5 million to let the two hostages go, Somali elders said, and ransom negotiations had ground to a halt.

Somali pirates have held hostages for months, often in punishing conditions with little food, water or shelter, and past ransoms have topped more than $10 million.

They could be splitting $1.5 million right now instead of laying in the dirt with bullets in their heads. Greedy idiots. Good job Seal Team Six.

no shortage of volunteers on this one i bet.
must have been nice for her father to get that call...hello sir..this is obama, the president of everything....your daughter? yeah i got her man...dont sweat it....you play golf? no? well i have to go then...you are welcome.."

With the way war has evolved, we don't need battalions of thousands of troops anymore. We just need about 50 Seal Team Six's that can go in and neutralize any threat on a moments notice. I think we'll be hearing a lot more about tactical strikes like this in the future. Glad someone had the balls to make the call for them to go in and get the job done.

Had anyone heard about this before they rescued them? I sure hadn't. Makes me wonder who doesn't get rescued that we don't hear about.

Seal team six is badass for sure but the fact that they are now becoming a part of mainstream news tells me they are no longer the baddest covert team in the world.

The truly badass shit that happens will never make mainstream news for obvious reasons.

I want to agree.. but I can't.

I would imagine that they sent in their very best to take out Osama and that was Devgru (seal team six)

If there was a team more badass that team would have been sent in to kill the most wanted man in U.S. History

This is the second time in a year the elite, and clandestine unit has been outed, and one former seal is outraged. "My advice to officials is to shut up," Scott Taylor told WAVY.com. The former Navy SEAL is appalled by the news coverage surrounding SEAL Team Six. "My beef is not with the media cause they're going to report it right, so my beef would be with officials who officially, publicly announce a specific clandestine unit involved in one of these missions," added Taylor.

Taylor wants the President to send out a mandate, warning his Administration to keep quiet or face consequences. If they don't, he fears it could be the beloved SEALs themselves or their families who do.

I was going to say makes me wonder if the rescue date had anything to do with the SOTU address. Nothing like a feel good moment to kick off the night and carry some positive momentum.

yo bro's, it was all staged.. they were intentionally held hostage so that they could be captured on the eve of the SOTUA, just one more plan executed to ensure BO's re-election.

..only 7% serious.

It can be all true, just timed for political reasons.

good work, they should get all those Somali pirates this way

Do you dumb fucks realize these Somalians have had their beaches destroyed by toxic waste dumped by other developed countries, leaving them with only the option of piracy to survive? You think these small band of pirates want to go against government forces to get rich? I'm not saying it the situation of an actual kidnapping we should just leave the hostages for dead but what we're doing now is just covering up our mess at the cost of Somalian lives instead of solving the root of the problem.

This is one of the many overlooked tragedies of Africa. Most of the world just dumps bullshit on their beaches and in their water. Literally ALL the wildlife has been killed for miles and miles along those beaches.
