Dropshipping?

it really depends on how you set up your deal with the drop shipper. I currently do drop shipping where i List items on eBay and the drop shippers take care of the rest.. i make less per item that way but I also have fewer headaches..
My number #1 tip when getting involved with dropshipping is make sure that the company you are working with is reliable and not a one person operation. Look at reviews, possibly contact someone that uses that dropshipper, order through the dropshipper and have something shipped to your address, etc.
A guy I know from college is a drop-shipper. He actually went to the Phillipines - where his shipper is located, and sourced out his guy personally.
I told him I was considering getting into a different product than he was, and he suggested flying someplace and getting a source. He believes there are a couple of advantages:
1) You get to see what the company is about IE: their production, management, etc
2) He made it clear to them he would have no problem flying back if their were disputes or major problems. This way you're not just a white dude, hiding behind a computer.
Not bad advice if you ask me.

Yeah, well i have the e-commerce site ready to go i am just having problems finding a good supplier. If it took off i would have no problem flying out to find new suppliers but my budget doesn't allow at the moment. I am considering just buying the stock myself from alibaba.com then i know where i stand... thanks for the tips.
I know somebody who has found a pretty good Dropshipper from Drop Ship, Light Bulk, Liquidation and Import Wholesalers from Worldwide Brands! - Home Page (not an affiliate link). I've heard they have a ton of stuff on there. I think they do charge like 200 bucks for the list though. It's constantly updated though..
Tip #1: Don't start searching Google for "dropshippers". You'll find a lot of companies that are either scams or selling a lot of junk no one wants. Stay away from companies that bill themselves as dropship solutions. Stay away from the ebay directories as well.
