Hi all new here and 98 pound weakling amongst you...
First post, I basically have had a relatively sucessful business for years and ignored the potential of the internet not to mention the Social stuff.....but lately I've had a fire lit for making something happen for myself on the internet. I bought a bunch of domain names, I have started a site....just about two weeks ago on the latter.
My day job doesn't allow me to get content and my site is too weak at this early stage I'm too embarrased to show it to anyone. I'm still trying to get all the functionality going, I'm not selling anything there so its basically an idea that I thought of, and now seeing alot of competition in that arena that to be competitive with I'm going to have some serious game and a site with alot of bells and whistles...
I do have a big idea for natural supplements/health products, that is my backround and day job.
So, I humbly ask you pros here:
1. Am I allowed to put up videos of anyone's stuff as long as I cite the source? If not, is it a case by case basis?
2. I would like to let people come and post without the hassle (for them) of making them sign in...the pagelines (I think) platform won't let us do that, plus I can't do nearly what I want in my head. I want my site to be like a pinball machine, with all kinds of (literally) bells whistles, funny characters, and I want a bunch of different mods that will help with the content. Because in the arena I choose (humor) its tough out there.
3. How the hell am I going to make any money from a humor site? Although I must say there are multiple meanings for my site and that is a good thing, potentially.
4.Is this wordpress or page platform weak and limiting?
5. My biggest question, is the .mobi domain area worth pursuing, I would say from a laymans veiw it would be in theory it would because phones keep getting better....but what do you think?
6. Prizes, contests, what the hell can I offer with a limited budget? Cash? A picture of my dog? Damnit!
7. I would love to have a game connected with my site, or at least an app. I already bit on the taptalk.
