I'm new to the game and considering the purchase of a bunch of databases to get content on the cheap. Obviously I can't expect the content to be unique here, and sure enough a quick Google of some text fragments yields like four or five identical copies.

If I'm just starting out, with no system in place to get a large volume of links, is it still realistic to expect any organic traffic? Or get them indexed even?

Jk..

Just try to put a good spin on it. So format the information differently and try to add other unique content on the page.

As long the duplicated contents are not in your websites, you will be fine...

But even if the duplicated contents are across different sites of yours, only one would get ranked WELL on your targeted keywords..

Google is damn good at filtering duplicated (or near) contents..
