Email Marketing.

What I have:
- A double opt in list of 12,000 Real Estate agents who I handled while I worked as a project manager at a real estate services company. (about 1,000 of these will know me by name and several even tried to poach me etc)
- A kick ass website.

What I need to know:
The best tactic for my first email to my list.

Do I:
1) Email them a sales pitch directly.

OR

2) Email them tips etc that link to my blog and let them discover my packages pricing etc on their own after reading some helpful info.

Regardless of option 1 or 2 I was planning on using adwords re-targeting to keep my companies ads on their radar once they visit my site.

Thoughts?

I've just gone through the process of setting up an email system for my site and here's what I've done. I don't know if it works for you but it might be worth a try.

MOST IMPORTANTLY - The first step is that you need to help them realise that they should be listening to you. You need to establish yourself as some kind of authority in their mind. Without that, there's no reason for them to listen to you or buy anything from you.

After that, there's a few ways you can go about it. I went with the Frank Kern Mass Control style.

Step 1 - Desire
Build the desire in their mind - Make them want to live your life / have what you've got / be able to do the things you can do, etc...

Step 2 - Bonding / Connection / Trust
Show them that you're a real person who's been where they are and has gotten where they want to be.

Step 3 - Proof
Show them that what you've got worked for someone else who's in their position

Step 4 - Sample
Give them part of your product that they can use straight away to start getting results. Make sure it's good but incomplete.

Step 5 - Let them have the thing they've been begging you for.

If you do this right, you should have the begging you to buy your shit by the time you release it.

Theoretically...

I'm just putting it into practice so I can't claim to be any expert on it but I have a few mates who're killing it with this system.

One mate wont tell me what he's making but I know he just paid $250k to ONE of his affiliates...

Anyway, it's just one way of doing it. If you want to keep up with how it works for me, keep an eye on my diary. I'm implementing it soon so you'll get to see how it goes.
