Feedback and Advice for my site

It is my first site and so far it seems to be going well. I would love some constructive criticism either around the content, design, advertising or any advice you have for the SEO side of things.

So far I receive around 40 - 60 hits a day from both search traffic and links from other sites. So far the site has not generated any cash from advertising, not a big deal as I am more concerned about learning SEO.

The timing of your first site couldn't be more shitty.

Anyways, moving on to advice. It doesn't seem like you have a clear keyword strategy. Your homepage, the most important page on your site, uses "Online Poker FTW" as the title tag. Is online poker your main keyword? If so, don't expect to rank well for it... ever.

Also, you should consider outsourcing some of your articles. The english hurts to read... "Those are the basic steps for playing poker for you, dear beginner."

You're bounce rate must be through the roof.
 
Your content sucks, and you need more content. Remove the gap between your header image and the nav links at the top. Make the header image equal width to the nav links. Call me anal but that gap between them bugs me. Reduce your ad spots. I know you're furiously trying to turn a buck but it's ad overload, and with what .... about 5 different ad networks? Change your default wordpress username "written by ADMIN" looks stupid. Change your title tag for sure. And yes, your timing sucks on this one.

I will take on board what you guys have said cheers! As for the timing, I know real shitty timing oh well I will just stick it out and play around with it.

Took your advice about the heading and changing the name and it looks much better, thanks!

I also removed some of the ads and changed the title of the front page. When I get some more time after work I am going to add more content and make the homepage more enticing for traffic to stay.

If you guys have any other suggestion please let me know, thanks!
 
It looks like a blog made by an Indian who heard you can make big $$ on the Internet by making a website, then getting your friends to post frivolous comments to help increase traffic.

I'm being totally serious.

Fair enough point taken, I'm not Indian by the way ;), but can you give me some guidance on what I should be aiming to do or what I should start working on?

I'm glad you're intelligent enough not to be offended. :D There are spelling and grammar mistakes galore all over the site (I'm not going to spend time pointing out what a good spell-checker can do for you, but you get the point.) It appears you wrote everything yourself, in a rush to get the site going and haven't looked everything over carefully.

You have an adsense ad that is practically super-imposed at the top of every article (including home page.) This is made worse by the fact that you really can't read the ad because the letters are chopped in half by poor resizing (not sure if that's the reason.)

You may have cut a few ads since you posted yesterday, but the site does scream "GIVE ME YOUR MONEY BITCH!" due to all the ad placements you have.

It isn't really clear what your goal is with the site, but if it were me: I'd cut the user comments out of there, at least until you stir up some traffic. The broken English and pointless comments make it look like you had your buddies make the post (thus my comments about Indians.) Got nothing against them, I just can't stand sites that obviously don't use spell check, then have dozens of comments like: "These are trooly amzing informations." or..."These things in your website are dramatically terrific."..."we dramatically love your own tips" etc, etc.

While my opinion may not matter; I would click off your site instantly. It all comes down to what sort of crowd your trying to attract to the site.
