I have only ever used VPSs with CPanel. As I am setting up a big boys website I shall put it on a dedicated server.
What I want to do is this: build the site on my PC using WAMP then upload it to the dedi. I want to learn everything about how install a linux distro, configuring the servers settings, security practices etc.
If I am going to be serious about this site, I feel I should learn as much as I can about the server my site/business is sitting on.
Is it possible to just take the site from WAMP over to a server like that?
