ftp filezilla

im using filezilla and ever time i try to upload a file it gives me this error message Error: Could not connect to server . i have no clue what to do can some one please help me ?

I've been having problems with Filezilla as well... I think the last update to it really screwed shit up.

I went and installed CuteFTP on a friends recommendation. It's actually really good and has an inbuilt text editor, so if you just need to do some basic shuffling in your website's files, you can do it straight from Cute.

i just tried cuteftp and for some reason its still not working . it says its "about to connecte "then says "connecting "next the error message pops up and says "cant connect" and status "cant login" . still trying ?thats the 4th program with the same error messages . im starting to thinks its my hosting

CureFTP's text editor kind of sucks because when u add <?php ?> codes , it just makes all the code an ultralight "grey" color due to which it is almost impossible to read the code , let alone modify it!

SftpDrive: Access SFTP as a Windows Drive Letter seems good as Nicky mentioned but i love free ones so rather than paying up i am just using cuteftp

cuteftp dose the same thing . i called hostgator ,they told me they could connect to my host account with there ftp ? how the hell? i gave her the info ! username , pass and url .

i use cuteftp, filezilla and hostgator. Never had a problem.

i used smart ftp ,sftp drive ,filezilla and cuteftp ;same problem . i called hostgator about 3 times . they told me they had not problems connecting from there end . but for some reason i still cant connect .ALL my info is right , i disabled the firewalls and everything .still no help .i trace routed my hosting ip address , its working .so what the hell ? what could be the problem ?

Make sure you have Passive mode (PASV) enabled.

I use hostgator and filezilla also - sometimes for no reason at all filezilla will just hang forever so I tend to use WSFTP Pro on that account

Most of the time this comes down to something not quite right on what you entered. Do you have the same problem on other FTP programs or just this one?
