So I have one project with 1000's of pages, business related. I have adsense in my banner rotation all over the place.

I check out the site, and G has set all of their adsense ads to (their own ads) offering businesses to join adwords with a $75 free coupon.

I'm getting really sick of these guys. It seems as soon as you show signs of success, they're right in there trying to steal away your potential customers with their free candy.

I check, my adsense stats and its page ctr is on average 0.40% -- about 12 clicks over 3,000 impressions.

I can remove the the adsense and replace it with something more commissioned based.

For other adsense users, what does that CTR look like, shit?

Has anyone noticed G trying to take over like this?

anyway... bit of a rant. they're supposed to show relative ads to the content on the page, but its clear their showing their coupon ad everywhere, regardless of the content, just based on the fact the site is biz related.

The reason why AS is so successful is because of their ad-targeting.

I'd say they're doing a good job.

Well try to block the Adwords url using Blocking options in Ad review center of your account.

Will give it a shot, thanks.

The site has a diverse article section. The ad blocks are mixed within the articles. Initially, they were showing ads pertaining to the topics of the articles.

Looks like they've eased off, and are showing topic relevant ads again.

anyway... will try to filter out AW.

Oh noes! Google's stock will go tumbling... please don't do that.

haha, ok will make a note of that

Google factors your search history into deciding what ads to serve to you as an individual. If you've searched for ppc, adwords, webmaster stuff, etc, you'll see these ads everywhere. Your regular visitors are seeing the ads they should be, or ads that pertain to their search history, which also works in your favor.

That CTR actually isn't bad, depending on your traffic source and ad placement.

Site exclusion is defintely the way to go. Also don't just base your assumptions about what ads are showing based on what you see, retargeting could be at play.

Done now, and it worked. Don't see the ads anywhere.

Ah, ok. Never thought of that. I haven't been searching for AW, or advertising anywhere, tho' Webmaster type of sites, not really, except from coming here. I see what you mean though. Interesting.

Source = SE traffic only. Placement = header, sidebar and middle of page mixed in with content (articles etc.) I've got AS rotating with a couple other banners for free magazine subscription etc. (related to that industry)

Page CTR for this month = 0.42%

Thanks for all the input and help.
