So I'm assuming that this would not affect a gambling site that was not hosted in the u.s. right?

FUCK that law. I got a job recruiting players for an online gambling site and the DAY they sent my business cards/cd roms...that they spent 2,000 dollars on...they pass that law. So now I have a huge box full of business card/cd roms. Anyone want one? Dont be surprised if an FBI agent drops through the ceiling and shoots your ass. :2gunsfiring_v1::ak::bootyshake:

actually gambling online has always been illegal. so essentially, it's still the same thing. online gambling will not die, there will always be other means to fund accounts, get around IP blocking and what not.

As long as I have been gambling online it's always been considered a grey area. Much like online porn, as long as it isn't violating the community standards where YOU view it it is ok....at least that is pretty much how the laws read.

Anyways, I agree it won't die, but they are making it harder. Besides, all it takes is for them to actually start prosecuting people and I can guarantee you will se a huge drop in Americans gambling online....only the hardcore would continue to the risk.

Exactly

It will be less fish at the tables to make money off of.

I doubt they will prosecute anyone gambling from the US -- way too costly and inefficient. They are already showing their strategy which is going straight to the source....the companies themselves. The pressure will be put heavily on these companies blocking any US transactions or else face serious financial penalties. What's interesting about this future bill is that it still exempts the horse race industry, state lotteries and fantasy sports betting.
