Get a faster server!!

Hmm, this is really going to drive up the demand for servers hosted on level3.net, located in Atlanta :D

Level3 is a transit provider, not a host. One of the largest backbone providers in the world.

I've seen landing pages that were 800x600 images with a couple hot spots - I'm not surprised they are using loading time.

Wish they would let us puny mortals know what that time is though :)

for those of you using keywordmax and google analytics - there's a huge pixel latency problem with both on the page. I spoke to kwm about it and they let me know their pixel doesnt play nice with GA.

check it out if thats your situation.

There where murmmers about it. Never thought they would go that far. So stupid.

Just like google to dumb down the web to help their bottom line. Now webamsters will be heading towards leaner pages with less tracking.

How does that help the user?

You should get a faster server not only because of AdWords QS but also because of conversion rate. One of my landing pages is on a shitty shared server and the conversion rate varies a lot based on the server response time. During the good days I see 50% - 60% higher conversion rate than during the bad days. It took me some time to figure out why the difference is so big.

I bet it's more of an attempt to stop people from setting up tons of Chinese hosting accounts and running tons of ads off of there at once (like some of those ringtone issues where 40 ads for the same site were showing up).

Guess I should stop fucking around with my server & slowing things down while trying to program a new site (although that's probably a good idea anyway).

Are they going to take into account network latency if there's a network problem? I can see everyone's quality scores going to poor if Google's transit providers ever have issues... all sounds like bs to me.
