I just picked up getusedgames.com/net and I am trying to think of cool ways to monetize the site. Its brand new and I don't have content on the site at all.

I was thinking of maybe setting up like a local craigslist specifically for people to buy and sell games on, instead of getting ripped off at the local gamestop. The problem would be getting the word out.

Any ideas are welcome. Thanks.

I think my friend try the girl gamers games if you want.

That's actually a legit way of monetizing a website. You can also use EPN affiliate links or SA affiliate links on that site since the demographics of gamers are usually people who also buy stuff online.

Cheers

Seriously if you're trying to monetize, don't try to compete with ebay/craigslist... use em. Get Wordpress, phpBay Pro, and sign up as an eBay affiliate, and let er rip.

Ebay loves sites like this. Very effective for WH marketing =D

Phpbay pro is also a great tool to use to drive traffic to epn

Just wanted to say thanks guys. I been busy and haven't did anything with it yet, but thanks for all the input.

The way to succeed in that market I would imagine is to build a cool script that will let people find and compare games and pricing from ebay/craigslist/amazon/etc. all on your site. You prob couldn't go head to head with any of them with your own product because you don't have the resources but you could certainly outpace them if you make it easy to compare all of the different major sources side by side.

There are a couple members here that have really good wp review plugins if you want to go that route.
