I'm a web developer who only knows HTML and am looking to expand my knowledge with xhtml and css. I'm pretty old-school because I still use tables and my html doesn't validate, etc. My sites look great but the code is crap. Can someone point me to a book that would be good for me? Something that is easy to read and easy to pick up.

Thanks.

I know what you mean when you just want to have something in front of you.
Barnes and Nobels has a series of books that are $10, and there's a css and dhtml one.

I like the "Visual Quickstart Guide" series (lots of pretty pictures ;-) seriously!
Amazon.com: HTML, XHTML, and CSS, Sixth Edition (Visual Quickstart Guide): Books: Elizabeth Castro

Also you can't beat the pocket guides from o'Reilly
O'Reilly Media | CSS Pocket Reference
(they even have the PDFs for $6.99, but I'm sure they're on pirate bay or something)
