Good directories to get backlinks from

My site is 2 month old, ranked #6 in it's target keyword.

Has 57+ backlinks from forums and blog comments

Sites #1 and #2 are over 2 years old, have fewer backlinks of the same sort of quality, aren't dmoz/yahoo listed.

I could take them on, however, the only thing holding me back is the site age.

I've read SEObook, it's a great book and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and still do. I've implemented most of the things relevant to my site.

Failing to get dmoz listed, and worried about getting delisted from yahoo search after forking out $300 for submission. I want to hit a few smaller human edited diectories.

I was wondering if any of you guys could vouch for any directories, and let me know the effectiveness of these in getting your site ranked in google.

So far I have relied solely on £0.00 SEO, and I think now is the time to go off and pay for quality backlinks from high PR sites.
 


There are plenty of Games related directories too. For example : arcadeforce is a good paid directory to get a link from. There are several free ones also available.

I have a 2007 edition of seobook, which aaron wall has stopped selling. There is a useful directories spreadsheet pages and aaron recommends a couple of worthwhile directories to post links to.

They all cost money to submit to (max $40 each)



I have roughly 59 backlinks to my homepage, they're all from dmoz listed forums from my industry, and a lot of them are high PR domains. I'm on the first page in google for 3 of my targeted keywords. I was #5 on a very high converting "buy [product name]" keyword for a while, but a recently google shakeup has taken me down to #10, Funnily enough for just the [product name] alone, I am #8 on the search results.

The point I'm making is that I have done enough weak forum and blog comments links, and have racked up wayy too much nofollow links, and want to get directory listings to get me higher up on the search results. I believe what my SEO campaign is lacking trustworthyness.

Forums backlinks are easy to get, and any tom, dick, and harry can do them.

What I need is listings from high quality, human edited web directories, to shoot my "trustworthiness" factor way up. Which is something that Aaron Wall mentions in his ebook that is a major consideration point for google's algorithms.

I posted a message, which had 5 urls of reputable web directories that I am submitting to.

For $40 a pop, but it hasn't show up? Has it gone for mod for potential backlink spam?
