Only morons use analytics/google owned tracking. Thanks guys for raising our bids and helping them fuck us all.

Let me add for those of you who think we walk around w/ tin foil hats on. They have to do "what is best for there stock holder" especially when there stock is taking a dive they are always going to look into every way possible to increase revenues. Guess who is making it easier for them?

You're an affiliate marketer, and if you can't code you're leaps and bounds behind the rest of us. Get off your ass, learn some php, mysql and maybe even some ajax and javascript, and code one yourself.

What do you personally suggest as an alternative to Google Analytics?

Questions like these are almost as bad as "blackhatters" asking which software works best.

1) I never suggested that I didn't know how to code.

2) If you re-read my question, you will notice that I am simply curious as to which platform HE personally uses as an alternative - nothing more.

3) Get off my ass and code one myself? So you're saying that YOU wrote your own Analytics software? I'm sorry, but a web counter doesn't count. I'm actually curious about my bounce rates, average times on page, nav path, customer loyalty, etc.

4) I net more in 3 days than you gross in one month.

Oh, and nice website (Site Temporarily Unavailable) in your sig:

Maybe you should restrict root, huh?

Since you like numbers I'll use numbers as well.

1) No reason to get angry and pointed dude.

2) If you can "code", but can't code what you need, you have a problem. So either learn, or PAY SOMEONE TO DO IT IF YOU'RE BALLIN OUT OF CONTROL. Having Google Analytics is a crutch.

3. Although it does a lot, there is A LOT MORE information that I now collect that analytics didn't (or rather doesn't share).

4. After you collect all this information, you should be monitoring what you do to fix campaigns and teaching your tracker. The whole goal is for your business to be totally on autopilot. I have it setup to where if something goes wrong I get a text message. If I don't, I know everything is gravy.

5. "I net more in 3 days than you do in a month." This is just a stupid statement. You have no idea the business i do.

6. The blog was rarely updated, and i'm stingy with information. Then the whole dreamhost fiasco happened. Its on my list of things to fix, just not very high.

I'm sorry I got your panties in a ruffle. Chill out dude, and make some fucking money.

How does using google owned tracking effect bid price? Perhaps if you give a bit more insight we will know better then to use them :D

I use Statcounter and it gives me all the information I need...map of where users are, length of time on site, keywords used, where they came from etc...it's a free service I use on all my sites.

The idea behind it is if Google knows you are converting on a campaign when bidding like $0.05 and getting 400% ROI that they will raise your bids for that niche and for everyone across the board. I'm not sure if anyone has proof of it, but it just makes sense. When advertising with any PPC or CPM network, I never give them an idea of what I'm making because they could just do it themselves and easily take my keywords and profits.

I like to make money and not spend more on ppc. So to answer your questions no.

Paranoid much?

Google's business is volume not trying to scam you out of a few more cents.

Also you can opt out of some of the ways your analytics data is used.

If you have an organic site use analytics on it but don't put the tag on your landing pages. Your landing page will capture any data google sends in search queries without an analytics tag reporting this to google.

You should be worried about tracking your landing page performance but you can easily do this with some simple inhouse stuff that your average php mysql newb could do.
