Google position...

I've had a site up for about 2 weeks now and when it first appeared on google it was at the number 6 position for a certain keyword search. I've checked today and now it's not even on the first 4 or 5 pages (I stopped looking after that!). I've done a few updates, but only (what I think) are improvements (adding a few more keywords into the copy, etc). Any ideas why it would just suddenly drop from that number 6 position?

It's common for a new site to drop in and out of the Google index in the first few months. It's just the Google way. I find that Google is very quick to pick up on new sites, especially blogs and will quickly index it. However, it can take up to six months for your SERPs to stabilize.

Basically, the Googlebot is trying to decide whether it likes your site (and content) or not, in the first few months.

yea, what you did is still a nice accomplishment, patience is big, but looks like your heading on the right track
