It's generally a bad idea to use free web space for money sites, you only control it as much as the host will let you. It's nothing for them to delete your account and be done with you at the first indication the site will put a load on the server.
You can use them to push backlinks to your real money sites, some of the free sites have good "link juice," but don't put too much into any one site if it is going to hurt you to lose it.

The site builder from homestead is pretty good. I use it for one of my companies and for what I want it for, it works fine. Now as Jryan said, if you start pounding them, they could remove you.
Also, you don't get a lot with their free one, start with the next plan up.
