Just started with Adcenter, and here's some of the things I've tried.

First, I have an offer I have had luck with on Facebook, so I want to see if I can get more traffic to it from other sources, such as Adcenter. I know this offer converts, so I'm starting there.

Next, I'm doing a search campaign. and I need keywords, so I start by just writing down a bunch that I assume people would be searching for. I've heard and read time and again this is Nicky Cakes' method.

So for example, if my niche were 'teeth whitening', which it isn't, i would draw up a keyword list like

Best teeth whitening
get teeth whitening
get teeth whiter
how to make teeth whiter
how to get whiter teeth
buy teeth whitener

and so on and so on. I also check for some keywords from GExternalTool, free WordTracker, Free KeywordDiscovery

So I did this for my niche and came up with about 1,000 unique keywords. This is pretty simple using ASAP utilities for excel (explainer here:Phrase Match Excel Formula + AdWords Editor for PPC ::::Paid Search Marketer::::)

My next step was to set up an excel spreadsheet that spelled out my campaign for easy importing into adcenter. So I created the spreadsheet, and tripled my keywords by also bidding on their phrase and exact.

So now I have a list of about 3,000 keywords, if you include the other matchtypes.

I make the adgroups to include the three matchtypes so I have 1,000 adgroups. I've discovered that MSN only allows you to have 500 adgroups per campaign. So after trying to upload a few times, only 500 of my adgroups made it into my campaign.

What I learned:

LESSON#1 - Don't make a single adgroup for every keyword, especially if you have a lot of keywords. You max out at 500 adgroups per campaign.

LESSON#2 - After waiting an evening, and reading threads, I discovered impressions may not begin for 12-24 hours. In 12 hours I have about 260 impressions.

LESSON#3 - I need to spend more time learning how to use param functions in the ads.

My Questions:

Question#1 - Should I start with fewer keywords?

Question#2 - Should I have more keywords per adgroup? I read that MSN recommends 20 per adgroup. Should I do more or less?

Question#3 - Is this a poor strategy for creating keyword lists?

Question#4 - Am I doing anything right with this process?

Well I am not sure why you are doing that, makes no sense to me. Try keyword insertion: {keyword:default text}

Here's an article for you. In large campaigns this will increase your CTR and Quality score (lowering your CPC and increasing you rank) on google adwords.

I know MSN also allows keyword insertion but I don't advertise with Adcenter so I am not sure how to do it. I'll start the search for you though:
