So, I have a WP site with original content blah blah, and, if i was only thinking of the potential visitor/customer for a moment, I'd put a link from my new site to a real old established site that has tons more info on the topic than i would ever hope to have.
I am not too worried about a visitor hopping on the link - most of them will have visited that site before they get to me, anyway.
I am wondering about the wisdom/value to my site of having a link back to an authority site:
- I've heard anecdotes that it will build up my new site in g's all-seeing eye, but any real life experience with that?
As the anchor text, i'd just use the site name, so at least i wouldn't pass on any specific anchor text juice.
Thanks
