We have recently started an affiliate program through a network in the UK. I thought the idea of an affiliate program was that we produce a banner, banner goes on affiliate site, customer clicks through to our site etc..
Apparantly not! How wrong could I be....
We have been bombarded with 'leads' from people who have entered a prize draw or been paid to sign up, the leads are not in the slightest bit interested in our product, most are not eligable which is a wonderful waste of our time.
I was hoping some of you good, honest affiliates could give me a heads up on any other dodgy affiliate tactics out there to help us cut down on the garbage leads - I don't think our network manager has the right incentives in place to assist me reducing the number of leads we receive!
