How To Start SEO?

Hello Guys,

Just want to have some piece of advice from Guru. I'm new to SEO but I know the whats the meaning of it. I just wanted to know how I can start for me to learn this skill. I'm a telemarketer in nature and want to add skills to my profile and market myself online.

Yeah --- start a search engine just like google did. They did it and they make all kinds of money. It's easy.
 
After reading many threads, the best is to pick a small project and go to it . You will learn as you do it and keep reading here.
 
Being a beginner you should start with basic On page and Off page optimization factors

On site optimization involves
-Write content that is deliberately designed to attract links towards it .
-Title optimization
-Important HTML tags .
-Meta tags optimization .
-Keyword optimization and synonyms .
-Link optimization .
-Image optimization

Off site optimization involves
-Social media optimization
- Blogging (including guest blogging and blogg commenting)
- Create mini-sites and small blogs to pump links to your main site .
- Submit your RSS feeds to feed directories
- Video marketing
I use ‘Keyword Country’ as a tool for checking the profitability of keywords and it works for me.

Thank you... I'll take that one as a good start in learning this stuff... :-)
 
To get skill you should do something. You cannot learn how to swin if you don't swinm.
Build a website. Choose any topic you like. And then start applying different methods. There are loads of information about SEO on this forum (use search and this section, ask specific questions). Start reading about how to do on-page optimization, after that read about off-page seo (backlinks).
Also you can visit BST section and view populat threads. People offer and buy seo services that work, so you can make some conclusions about working seo methods.
