Im new to affiliate marketing but I'm well versed in HTML. I've noticed that the sites that have the most gravity on CB usually end in a .PHP extension as opposed to a .HTML. Is there a reason for it? Is there better tracking? Could you more easily install popunders, or popups when they close the windows?

Before you start affiliate marketing, I would suggest you take a basic course on html, php and mysql. Just a weekend worth of learning should be enough to equip you with what you will need to survive and understand the business.
