Thanks for the detailed explanation. It's like saying, "I need someone to create me a house. Quote me a price, please".
I'm always hesitant to reply to these because I usually get the feeling that it'll be $3000 worth of work with only a $300 budget to pay for it.
Gotta love people like that, eh? "Have an awesome idea, which will rival Facebook. $500 to the right candidate!"

If you showed up to a honda dealership and said you needed a car, I'm sure they'd find you something... unless the salesmen was a dumbass like you.
not really funny, you seem to be missing some basic wirings in your cerebral cortex. your need of "a website" is too vague for anyone who makes websites to listen to you. i make all kinds of different websites, but whatever you need, because you described it as just "a website", i'm not interested.
The suspense is Killing me! Is it a Spaceship whats the budget $300? Details man this could keep me up all night. Could it really rival Facebook? Can I do all the work and be your partner?

A suggestion; if you're soliciting offers to build you a site, it would be helpful if you gave a few details up front, such as whether or not you have an expected budget, whether you expect specific technologies to be used and so forth. Make it easy for the developer to rule themselves out before they waste time contacting you, only to find out that they're not a fit for your needs.
Difference being, anyone who walks into a Honda dealership has a good idea of what the market price for a car is. When it comes to "build me a website", people have wildly differing views, and any developer with experience will tell you many times, the clients are completely delusional.
For example, I've seen people saying they want a high-end server administrator with 5+ years of experience, proficient in about 12 technologies, and are willing to pay $11/hour. That's what you make at McDonalds in Canada.
Developers have to screen their clients far more than car salesmen do. Our time is money, and we don't like it wasted by people who think $30/hour for a developer is expensive, let alone $150/hour.
