I posted an earlier message about getting making money with the technology industry, but this one is more generalized. (Maybe this question will get some responses)

I am using a method that I think should work, but I am coming up empty handed and getting very frustrated - almost to the point of throwing my hands up the in air and quitting (but I'm not a quitter!)

Here is my method:
1.) Go to Azoogle, find an offer that seems like I should be able to make money on it.

2.) Visit the company's web site to get an idea of the product and potential keywords.

3.) Type those keywords into Wordtracker, Google AdWords Tool, SEOBook, and the other keyword tools I use. I am looking for keywords that get at least 100 searches a day (is this too many or too few?)

4.) Any longtail keywords I then type into Google to see what kind of competition I am looking at. I look at both the SERPs and the PPC ads.

While in Google I use the following search methods:
a.) credit repair georgia (no quotes)
b.) "credit repair georgia" (how many pages are focusing on that term)
c.) intitle:"credit repair georgia" (how many pages are SEO'd)

This is where I get lost.

I think if the SERPs have a low number of results for that keyphrase (less than 1,000,000?) I have the potential to get ranked for that term.

I think if there are less than 8 ads showing up for that keyphrase I can then use PPC to get the searcher to my web site.

Does this sound right? Am I missing something?

I can't find any terms that appear to work for me. I have went through tons of offers on Azoogle trying different keywords and can't seem to find a place to fit in.

Please help me this is driving me crazy!!!

Pretty hard to find many niches with only 8 ads or fewer. The key is to write a better ad, and have a better quality score than what's already there, so that you can beat them to the position you want.

Thanks waz67 for that response. I guess you're right about the ads, I will have to look into the ads again.

How do you go about marketing your web site? I like gadgets :-)

Is it profitable for you?

Well, it's been a bit of a mess actually. That was one of the first sites I built about 4 years ago when I just started getting into affiliate offers. It was originally built to solely promote affiliate stuff, it did ok the first year, then got less and less google traffic and didn't do too well, so I started to treat it like a normal blog and the traffic picked up again, but the affiliate sales have never recovered to their original levels. The google traffic seems to come and go (ie one month I'll see 500 visits a day from google, the next it will be 15). Traffic was up again this past november, so I cleaned out the stale affiliate links, added a bunch more and it did ok for christmas, but then in January google dropped it again. Other than some ppc around christmas each year, I have done very little to promote it.
