Do you guys build blogs around each domain you're building?

I'm thinking of doing something like this:

example.com - Dynamic landing page, on the bottom of the page will be headlines from my blog which will be posted on example.com/blog or something.

Build some initial links for it: just typical directories and etc.

Will that improve my QS?

ive been thinking of doing this too. How do you properly execute this? Do you have the blog beneath the landing page or do you just put a link that says blog or something? I also wonder if an autoblog would help to get good content.

haha, yah, that's what I was thinking.

use a bunch of feeds for content. only show the linked headlines on the landing page.

I would just install the blog like this

domain.com - Get online with a domain name and web hosting

with an anchor displaying "Futher Information on <dynamic keyword insert from adcopy>" at the bottom alongside the privacy statement.

Then the blog needs need to be indexed with about 30 indexed articles on it. I would suggest getting your keywords PPC correct first and then pulling articles and RSS feeds based on those keyword sinto your blog posts.

Have not really thought about pulling headlines from the blog to the LP. It can only do good though I would have thought, although I am sure one link to the blog from the LP is usually enough!

I guess thats how it should be done to have a good QS, thats how I do it and never had problems with my QS.

I've done it both ways and with some campaigns, unless you really target your ad with your keywords and LP...then your QS will be shit regardless...

I do this for all my landing sites. A set of custom php landing pages + blog + some other custom generated fluff pages + interlinking it all + about/privacy/tos = a smile on Google's face :D

would that be a set of different landing pages ?
or do they have to be as related as possible ?

so my question is : is the idea to have a site for every offer ? or every niche ?

If i have for example a consumer blog, will something unrelated like auto insurance ( or ringtones ) get a sucky QS on that site ?

or is having a good LP + linking to a dedicated blog post enough ?

I just build a QUALITY site... then i never have to worry about QUALITY score as long as my CTR is decent.

for what ? every single offer you want to promote ?

will a quality ringtones site get a good score for something only half related, like CDs or whatever..?

My head is exploding trying to decide what to promote and spending even a work week on a site for a specific offer just to get a low QS or the Offer bombing would suck.

Does 'wrapping' work ? I'm thinking of creating say a shopping site hoping that most consumer products that will get a review on the site, will also get a good QS on their on-site Landing page.

I just build my sites centered around the offer (or closely related offers). For testing out new niches or offers, don't spend too much time building everything. Try to create a process for yourself that can save you time.

I don't spend too much time on the "backend" pages (blog and extra pages). I focus the most of my energy on what the visitors will land on, which are of course the different variations of landing pages (each with relevant keywords and custom sales copy depending on different factors).

So when you're testing a product to see if it's profitable you just make a some 'quick and dirty' webpage with enough content for 'not a bad' quality score. See if it's profitable based on X ... if Yes, then develop into full fledge site.

I guess just getting that first couple of sites tested will take the longest till you get the routine of it.

I build my landing pages based on wordpress anyway.

It has the dual benefit of not only having great SEO out of the box and looking like a full site with meta, title, and description tags etc. But it also comes with a TON of free templates.

It also has built in RSS feeds so you can easily display a link making your site look even more like a legit site.

Thats what i was thinking ..
is there a point of having a blog + pages when you can just have those pages as 'pages' on a wordpress blog ?

and thats a great looking blog IAW, you got yourself a reader.

i want to put a block by myself but i dont know how maybe someone can give a few tips !? thanks bye :)

Ok, I've been drinkin' so I'll let out a few secrets.

The answer is yes. (but not always!)

When I first start a niche site, I create at least 1 pseudonym (up to 10 or more, depending on the size of the niche) and create blogger blogs, wordpress blogs. squidoo pages, hub pages, etc. (there are tons of free blogs, sites, etc). You should already have a base of these to drive G, Y!, and MSN anyways.

Then, before starting the adwords campain, get some link love to your new niche domain through your feeder domains.

Once you have the domain indexed (shouldn't take more that 24 hours w/ B & P), start the AW campaign and reap the rewards of no QS BS (usually ;p )

I'll expound, later, if anyone wants more details. (after I sleep off the Smirnoff)

Gumby!

Thanks!

Well, I like to create my landing pages separately from the blog for a couple of reasons: it gives you more creative control. If you use the WP pages as landing pages, you're kinda stuck with having things on the same page that you wouldn't necessarily want on there (things like sidebars, category links, rss links, etc.)

On the landing pages you usually wanna keep a much cleaner look. You can keep the general theme the same (or not) of you like. Also, with separate landing pages that I create in Dreamweaver, I can do more things with php etc. that would be trickier to include in a WP page.

<shameless plug> I have an upcoming blog post about this subject btw. </shameless plug> ;)

I have to say having a worpress blog as a landing page is a sure fire way to piss conversions down the drain.

Apart from the obvious privacy, contact us links e.t.c The landing page should have one other outgoing link and that is the call to action and nothing else.
