So I've got my domain registered as well as hosting, and I installed wordpress using fantastico. Now how do I make the contents appear when I go to my website? I've made a test blog-post on wordpress and tried going to my website, but nothing comes up: just the usual 'oh this person bought this domain here, he's making his website, come back later'

I've got all the LP stuff figured out and know where to go from this, but I'm completely stuck at the website-building level lol.

Did you changed your DNS servers with your domain registrant?

Oh okay I guess that's where I went wrong. I registered with namecheap and just found a tutorial to transfer dns servers. Thanks so much! It says it should take up to 24 hours so I'm still getting the same generic empty web page; this is normal right?

Okay, now I've run into another roadbump. How do I write articles? I've searched around and I can only find how to install wordpress, but I can't find anything about actually writing content.. do I access some button through my website's control panel?

You can log in to WP using the administrator username and password given to you when you installed. After you log in you can find a link to "Posts" on the left side nav bar, then just press "Add New". You can then create your content and publish when complete.

Edit: Usually your login will be something like: http://www.website.com/wp-admin/ IF installed on the root, if installed on a subdomain or folder use that URL then /wp-admin/

im currently working with hostgator and doing the $4/month deal. got my domain registered at namecheap.com

oh and thanks to the guys above. I did a quote reply and submitted my post, but for some reason, it said that it would be posted after a moderator approved of it.. weird.. but yeah, thanks!

I'd start off with baby croc ($9.95) since it allows unlimited domains. I've been on that plan for years - mostly runs my abandoned sites I never update lol.
