Invoice?

According to my country's regulation I need to request invoice from the affiliates before I pay the commissions. Is this common? I mean you also request invoice to pay the commission?

Invoices are for services rendered, but I don't know if in accounting terms you would consider them to be providing you a service, more like a bonus as you would pay your sales persons.

I have never sent an invoice to anyone.
 
I'm from Hungary. And it's true, unfortunately I need to request invoice to pay commissions to affiliate. I think this could be difficulties for a lot of potential affiliates.
 
Hmm... Why don't you just auto-generate the invoices.

You will most likely have all the data you will need for that (Name, Adress, etc) from their signup.

Then, once the
end of the month rolls in, you auto generate a document like this:

INVOICE

Date

To
(your data)

From
(Affiliates data)

Services / Amount
Promotion of XYZ / xx.xxx$
Promotion of XVT / xx.xxx$
Total
Marketing / xxx.xxx$

Then you print it out and send it to your government, or file it for tax purposes, or whatever.

It's not possible here. If you earn let's say 100USD in my affiliate program, you need to send me an official invoice about this amount. This invoice will be posted by the bookkeeper. And I can pay the commission to you just after that. The invoice should be also original, its my responsibility, so if its fake the tax authority can punish me.

I think this could cause difficulties to many potential affiliates who want to join my program.
 
Hmm, it's not fake since you actually pay the affiliate, it would be fake if there is no actual money transfer. Normally pro-forma invoices should be fine.

Btw, are you sure those invoices are really need for non-tangibles ?
 
Yes, unfortunately. But I was just thinking, that if you send me a document and you declare that it is official (original) than I can accept it. So, if you create a document like emp mentioned above and you declare its an official statement then I can accept it.

and yes pro-forma invoice is fine and if its not problem to issue by most of the affiliates than I really happy now!
