You may find far more benefits developing for android, as the Apple iPhone dev SDK is still very much a closed system. Also they ultimately decide what can be published/distributed and what not (unless you jailbreak, but then you still don't get nearly as wide an audience.)
So perhaps android will get the ball moving and make Apple realize history is repeating itself and they need to "open" up a bit.
Now developing websites in terms of mobile browsing especially on the iPhone/iPod Touch isn't all that hard, but I'm assuming the goal here is app and webapp distribution?
