Is Getting Backlinks & Updated Content It?

I've got my site up for about 8 days now, AdSense for 2 days and I've been posting 100% original content daily. Every day I create more backlinks and always submit to social bookmarking websites.

Is there anything else I can do to better my position in the SERPS and get more traffic to my site, other than paid methods like PPC?
 


Get involved in social media - video.

Focus on the quality of the back links you are creating and who you are partnering with. (the relevancy) Try to create a flow of activity on your site, not just having your site listed on other sites.

G wants to know, are people actually participating and spending time on your site?
 
Well, I suggest focus on all free methods to gain backlinks first. Organic traffic from search engines will always be better than paid traffic. Especially if you're monetizing your sites with adsense. If you monetize it using other methods, such as selling digital products, amazon products, etc, you might find it useful if you visit related forum to your niche. Be active on it. While giving some advise try to tell them a little bit about your site.
 
what worked well for me (few years ago when i was too po' to buy traffic) was Ezinearticles and free blogs to give you backlinks and get you multiple listings in the top 10.

Write some Ezine articles about your niche and link to your site in the author box using relevant keywords. The backlinks from Ezinearticles are high quality and the Ezinearticle itself will rank really well.

Use a free blog service like Weebly and write small blogs about your niche and point links to your site with relevant keywords. Figure out what blogs rank well now, weebly, tumblr, hubpages, squidoo lenses, whatever. make several if you want.

I could usually pick 2 or 3 (long-ish tail) keywords and have my site, an ezine article and a few free blogs all ranked in the top 10 pretty quick doing it this way, but like i said, it's been a while.
 
start posting quality post on forums, blogs related to your niche. If you are a good writer then offer a free guest post to blog owners. I'm sure most of them will accept the offer if you provide quality content.
