I had an idea for a relatively untapped niche in health offers, contacted a couple companies about manufacturing and dropshipping some private label products but they seemed pretty lazy and uninterested in taking on any new orders. Is this the general attitude now?

Hey Coach,

I am interested in starting a nutra offer.. needed some help. Can you please pm me?

Thanks

Nutra isn't dead. It's just a cash heavy business to get into.

You won't get the attention you're expecting unless:

a) you contact the correct manufacturer
b) you contact the correct fulfillment house
c) They think you have the $$ to get it off the ground and keep it running.

I actually just kicked off two new products... Most of the partners I spoke to made it very clear that any less than 125 orders a day (combined primary + upsell) is a waste of their time and they won't even bother.

The reason why some manufacturers won't quote you, is generally it's a waste of their time. Not that you won't go forward, but I've done a lot of wholesale nutraceuticals and the great majority of people who call in asking for custom runs don't end up going forward - even when we have the best price. It seems that in many cases it's just a spur of the moment idea of theirs that they don't have real intentions on going forward on.

Still, for a new formula/product, you usually need a minimum run of 1000 units. If you have that, manufacturers should be able to give you an estimate pretty quickly.

If you're serious, you should have a well written business plan handy. You'll be taken more seriously then since that'll be a step up from the tire kickers because you put forth some effort. It'll also make it easier for you to obtain processing too.

There. I contributed something to WF.

I must admit about 95 percent of inquires I get are tire kickers, but unfortunately that's the nature of the beast and that leaves 5 genuine buyers. Probably about the same at a used car lot, lots of tire kickers, but also genuine buyers.

But to answer the OP's question, nutra isn't dead and is getting bigger each year as people look for alternatives to big pharma while growing older.
