Now, some people have recommended cj.com, but i've been reading reviews saying a lot of horrible things about cj.com.

Amazon.com: Commission Junction: Website Details

I understand that it's on amazon.com, which would make sense that they would try to drag cj.com down, but I know there are some experts here. If anyone knows of any truth to any of these people reviews, please let me know, thanks.

just get ready to get asked what your traffic sources are and if they're not happy with your answer...account cancelled. then it's a bitch to go through all your site(s) and find out what damn CJ links was tied to that account...cause dead CJ links still goes to the website.

Ive never had a problem with CJ... I know sometime back Jon was claiming they burnt him for some five figure sum, though if I remember right that turned out to be a crock of shit. That was 2006ish

Worst thing about CJ is having to get approval for every campaign. Some are auto approve; but I'd say most aren't. And many of those are auto-disapprove if you're not in the US.

I have accounts with Linkshare, Shareasale, and CJ. I cancelled CJ because I was tired of waiting for approval. I have gotten approvals over two months later in my email. Shareasale for some reason when I check my stats the people clicking on links are by passing me and going for the sign up as an affiliate. Linkshare is the best one out of the three. Never had a problem and prompt payment.

Yes, CJ is complete crap. Don't pay them any attention. Stick to CPA offers since you can't wait to get approval and don't have the skills to actually get people to buy things. Less competition for me.

Bitch all you want about CJ, but I've only ever had one small problem with an advertiser (delayed payment of $200 from a CJ media deal) over 3.5 years of running traffic through CJ offers and hundreds of thousands of dollars of revenue. If you can't think outside the box and go through a few hurdles, that's your problem.

If you want to play in that space I suggest Share-A-Sale they're great to work with and don't let their advertisers pull as much BS. I worked with CJ for a while and had 2 incidents where the advertiser let me run traffic up to the day before payday then came back that day and said I was violating terms. To be exact I was running blogs that were auto redirecting to the offer rather then landing the user on the blog page. They said I was "forcing clicks" so I wasn't going to get paid. The main one was like 45k at which time was a shitload of money for me.

Bottom line is this CJ doesn't give two shits about you no matter how big of an affiliate you are. Just try and get someone on the phone that know ANYTHING or can make anything happen to help you in any way. They're always going to take the advertisers side because they make their money in advertiser fees. It's a totally different model. At least at Share-A-Sale they care about affiliates a little more.

Also an interesting fact I read in Revenue Magazine. CJ has 60,000 affiliates that have been active in the last months. Crazy!

Having a publisher rep there helps I guess, but I always made sure to have direct phone contact with any program I was sending any significant traffic through. As for advertiser fees, letting an advertiser unjustly withhold $45,000 in payments means CJ is giving up $13,500 in fee revenue, since they get a % of the commissions paid out...

So you were violating their terms and they banned you at their convenience? Sound exactly like what I would have done.

I use CJ for legitimate purposes and like it. But this is the biggest company in the business, and don't think they won't eventually figure out if you're pulling shit like this (or cookie stuffing, or whatever).

So play it straight with CJ and you'll be fine.

You know what, that is kinda stupid. I manage UBot Studio's affiliate program and some of our people use BH methods. As long as it doesn't get me into legal hot waters and the traffic is good, I don't give a crap.

And I will fuckin pay for the traffic that converts for me. You know why? It just means more money in my own pocket.

PS: It boils down to short term greed v/s long term greed.

I have always been paid by CJ and do a lot more revenue in that space than CPA offers from other networks. You just have to follow all of the rules and protect yourself. Don't try to run any blackhat traffic with them either because they will catch you and not pay which is tough for many who use grey/blackhat techniques. Shareasale protects their affiliates more though but haven't had any problems personally with either.

It depends on what you want to promote. CJ, Sharesale, Linkshare and Xanox (strong internationally) are all similar and all have types of offers you WILL NOT find on cpa networks. If you want big brands, or big company offers you will find them on the above mentioned sites.

The payouts are different than CPA, sometimes they are as low as 3%... but that 3% will be on an item that is $2,500. If you have sites that can implement product databases and such, or maybe you have a product review site that you need to monetize specific big brand products then you will find a way to do it through Cj and the other sites. Sure, there's CPA offers on CJ too, but it's not their forte.

CJ and CPA networks are really apples and oranges.
