I have a friend with a fairly high volume website. 163,000 unique visitors a year and 38,000,000 hits a year.
That's roughly 438 unique visitors/day with 104,000 page views/day. And yes, he's sent me his actual stats so I believe him.
His site is VERY under-monetized. He makes somewhere around $15,000/year with this traffic. So, I am going to JV with him and help him out. He is very interested in making substantially more money but does not have the depth of knowledge I have at this point.
However, my knowledge is good but I'm not that experienced. I am get the technical stuff done no problem but I'm worried about potential downsides I haven't thought of.
The general plan is to get together and pick some CPA offers from one of the networks like A4D, Copeac, etc. I'll get the income and split with him 50/50. I'm double checking with the affiliate managers but it seems like this is essentially a media buy so I don't see a problem with it.
The only potential problem I can see is that he would dump me and go straight for an ad network himself. Can anyone else think of a downside?
