I just want to clear some questions i have regarding keyword research. When i type my niche market/key word into google i get 3,300,000 searches. When i type the keyword/niche into google with quotes i get 238,000 searches.(i am the top search on google currently)
When i use googles free keyword search tool, i only have like 30 local searches a month. Should i only be looking at googles keyword tool/competetion when finding a niche?

do you mean that when you type your keyword into google that you get back 3,300,300 results rather than searches?

when using the keyword research tool you should be paying attention to the number of searches that result from selecting the option for exact match. Look at the difference in the number of searches when you select broad vs phrase vs exact.

This is the results for that keyword... not the amount of people searching that term every month.

Yes, to see if it's worth pursuing. 30 (us local searches) a month is generally shit. What you were being mislead by earlier can be useful to judge competition... but that's a whole new chapter.
