if your affiliate network has an offer and you want to make a custom landing page for it, are you allowed to bypass the landing page they give you and just make a custom form and POST the data to the website yourself?

talk to your affiliate manager. if they are worthwhile they will be your great help in getting anything done. at copeac I'm in constant communication with my am and it allows me to get higher payouts, keeps me updated on new offers, and hell if I'm being lazy I'll even have them build a landing page for me now and then. too many noobies are internet shy, get out there and just be willing to learn and make mistakes. the internet is serious business though, don't mess around.

Yeah, it depends on the network.

The network I'm with (see my shameless plug of a sig) lets you do that.
You can just have a link to the signup/payment gate, and leave the rest of the site as your own.

The landing pages on most networks are tried and true though... They've usually been designed by professionals that have had some training in using semiotics and coercive techniques.

I've had much more success with just sending people directly to their landing page. Like HarveyJ said, they're usually tried and true. Not to say your own landing page won't work but again, it watching my conversions when using my own landing pages vs. theirs, theirs usually converts better.
