I've been reading about how much these sites are making,$500-1000 a day! How long do you think before google, yahoo and myspace catch onto these sites and put an end to it all?

The way these sites make so much is by spam,They spam thousands of myspace accounts.

Tyler Cruz made a good post in his blog about these "space rangers".

http://tylercruz.com/

He got alot of heat for what he said.

I wonder how long until there are video sites with just youtube videos on them. Great way to save bandwidth. :D

I doubt G Y! and MSN will have much effect, because most of the traffic comes from myspace and not from SE. Since its viral it doesnt depend on natural se traffic as much.

That said, I agree with him that it wont last. You can make some money pretty quickly, but there are so many of them eventually its gonna dry up.

I would think that myspace will crack down on these sites sooner than the SEs will. Im surprised that since fox has taken it over they havent implemented their own method of customizing.

I thought Myspace had already cracked down on a lot of sites that had used the word Myspace in their domain name. Maybe that's just the start of bringing a lot of the ancillary services under their own banner.

wont die, 80 millions users cant be wrong. its going to turn even bigger somehow.

Im a space ranger but am slowly coming down off that high :(

Going to sell 2 of them soon as they have been sitting and focus on the 1-2 that are custom made

yes, but right now the getting is good.

What's that old saying about making hay while the sun shines? I wish I'd got into Myspace sites back before it went huge, they've made a nice few years earnings off of it.

Although "myspaceresources" sites will need more and more to become unique & successful, there will always be ways to approach the issue differently and make a more unique add-on to the myspace experience.

The question is, will you be creative enough to "feed the myspace beast"...

I agree completely. I really do wish I had hopped on the myspace bandwagon a year ago, but I think the edge sites described there hold more potential since they also have a non-myspace audience. While myspace provides a great advertising source, but if myspace for some crazy reason tanks, you still have your users.

I've been tryin to think of somethin unique, cos if u got a unique myspace idea it spreads like wildfire.....*continues thinking*

I haven't come up with anything specific yet, but the first people that did the glittering letters thingy probably made good money. I didn't read about that one, but I saw lots of crazy letters on different profiles, all pointing back to http://www.bigoo.ws/ and I see it's all the rage now.

If I was to make a myspace related site/service, it would probably be along those lines, a thing that can also be used on LJ, DJ, Xanga, Bebo and any other blog with a teenager behind it...

Theres the key I think. Not just myspace, but any networking site. Considering the demographic you can make serious cash through selling advertisements. Fox paid over half a billion dollars for a site making about 20 million a year for a reason.

Profile Trackers seem all the rage, thats my handy hint for the day. (and there aren't many good profile trackers)
