Can anyone help me out with this one?

I simply want to direct link a Maxbounty banner to an offer using BuySellAds but when I paste my affiliate link into the link field it says the it is invalid...wtf?

please help!

what kind of sub ids are you using etc? are you cloaking (if not you might want to) some traffic sources don't accept certain domains e.g. mb01 etc so you have to do a work around.

I'll be honest, I'm pretty new to all of this so i'm not using sub ids or cloaking..although i'm getting the feeling i need to ..

Do u have a good source that explains how sub ids and cloaking works and how to do it?

Really appreciate it :)

Not sketchy at all

Well, for once we agree in something. Since most blocking and rating systems are left in the hands of the lowest common denominator (like noob users, people who can't remember what they signed up for, crusaders and users of WoT), any system that requires a tracking domain is left at the mercy of these people.

Thankfully, it's easy enough to get tracking domains and switch them out, which is what all PPC, PPV, CPA, targetting and retargetting, and third party tracking systems do to work around this issue.

So yeah, you are right. It's not sketchy at all.

So you have multiple URLs to get around systems put in place by responsible internet players to weed out garbage? hmmmm weird, i dont see ad.com google or others using multiple links when i run ads with them. They must be singling you out Steve.

BTW how is that facebook lawsuit going?

While I was a bit of an ass in my last response, I'll respond here in all seriousness and with proper respect for a discussion.

Sites like Web of Trust, SiteAdvisor and any other crowd sourced ranking/blocking systems are not put in place by responsible players looking to make the Internet a better place. They are put in place to sell their own products and services. So it is in their best interests to allow as many comments/ratings as possible, meaning they'll let anyone affect the rankings of sites, even those people who don't know the difference between browsing and an email client. This leads to invalid rankings and unnecessary blocks. If you don't believe me, have a look at WoT someday.

Because tracking links get blocked for no good reasons, networks have to get new tracking domains to ensure their campaigns continue functioning properly. This isn't limited to MaxBounty, or any other CPA network. CJ does it too, and they're hardly considered scammers.

Tracking links also get blocked when fraudulent affiliates do things they aren't supposed to be doing (like spamming). I can't speak for all networks, but we're pretty strict with our terms. Despite that, enforcement is just as reactive as it is proactive and sometimes a bad actor can get a tracking domain blocked - even if he's been booted from the network. While most blockers will clear the block in this case, sometimes they're unwilling. This leaves us no choice but to workaround the problem.

I know you think CPA offers are garbage, and we're in agreement that some affiliates/networks do things that are horrible. That doesn't make the entire CPA model scammy. Impulse driven, yeah. Selling products/services people don't necessarily need, yeah. Scammy, no.

I doubt anything either of us write would change the other's mind. I just can't sit back and accept a label like "scammy" when I've been working hard at MaxBounty for 10 years to operate an ethical business.

The Facebook thing was resolved years ago, by the way.
