I'm just starting to dabble in mini-sites as a way to gain some experience for ranking in google, adsense, etc. After getting out of the proxy business, for good, hopefully.

Anyways, The first site I'm going to create is an informational/educational type site. In google the the main term comes up with a little under 4 1/2 million results. The next most popular term gets 300,000 results. (These are the two terms I'm going to try and rank for.) Well, to the point now. Anyone with experience in this would you say that is to many results to try and rank for (first and second page) within a month or two? I've been ready around and it says to try and find terms with around 40-80k results.

Does anyone have a site where I can track keywords (free) to few how many hits it gets on google a day? (Can't find any sites that are reliable and free.)

Thanks for any help!

Honestly, the fastest I have done SEO has been from not-indexed to position 13 in organic Google is 5 months.

To reply to your question, I'd suggest installing Statcounter. It's both reliable and free, but limited to your last 500 visits when using the free version.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the information, I was looking more for a website where I can put in a keyword to which it will display how many searchs the term gets a hour/day in google.

"Honestly, the fastest I have done SEO has been from not-indexed to position 13 in organic Google is 5 months." Thats why I was hoping to get into some with very little competition. Hoping almost 4.5 million results in google is little competition.

Free and accurate? Not any more. Accurate? I wouldn't even suggest the paid ones either. I'd suggest you just trust your gut feeling and make the site.

Are you serious?

Seo Book Keyword Suggestion Tool
This will give you per day results. You just need to divide them by 24.

The question is, are you serious? If your going off Mr. A.Walls tool then I suspect you have no clue what your doing.

If your serious about keywords and kw research, there is nothing that can help you on the level you need for free. The paid ones are not that accurate either.

At best ( and to start off ) your gonna need to just do it. Pick a handful of what you think are your "short tail/head" terms and expand from there on your own.

The numbers you see for competition and searches are meaningless, its all about cash flow. At the end of the day, Ive made more money on kw rankings that I thought might be way too comptitive or not a lot of traffic compared to the ones I thought would be easy to rank for or had the most traffic.

Think about it and test it, you are often surprised depending on your niche and situation.
