What's the best way to monetize a dating site geared towards students? Im stuck paying a hefty bill every month for a dedicated server for a site that makes $0.

The sites started off on shared servers. But the members grew so I got an account suspended page and was forced to go dedicated by host gator. I'm not using any marketing programs. There arent any ads on the site, as I didnt want to scare off people from joining. But now that I'm paying a lot to have them hosted, i am getting fed up of the bill and want to make money.

You have users signup - bring them in - give them a good product - and produce clean and effective ads.

You won't scare them off if your site warrants them being members, and if they sign up, that means they are interested.

You could show Adsense ads in the members section only. I've heard this is what plentyoffish.com does.

You can also add no obtrusive ads by creating profiles of users who are on XYZ dating site ad have them follow a link to see more of your pics on that site.

You can sprinkle email/zip submits as text ads in profiles that say something like, win a free gift card for red lobster since most people go out to eat for their first date

25 thousand dollars and you have no revenue streams coming in at all. I would be reluctant to purchase anything that didnt already have anykind of cashflow.....I would work on the monetization before even putting up....unless of course it is of good design and even that probably isnt worth the 25k.

How many registered users are there? Whats the link?

Just put ads on. Even if you scare a few people back to their TV sets (and all those creepy ads), you will be making more than $0.

Offer your users a script download that blocks ads. There's lots of free ones out there, especially for Firefox.
