Anyone have much success with AdCenter? I'm checking them out since ShoeMoney recomends them on his radio show. I can't seem to find any tool like the Overture view bids or Google Adword Keyword tool to help with determining what to bid on keywords. Any tips on using Adcenter?

They suck. don't use them.

I don't think they have a tool like that, but they have been cheap for me. Just try em out with a few bucks and see how it works.

I've been running them for about a week now but barely get any traffic
meanwhile the same exact ads get tons of clicks from adwords and overture

Adcenter is really expensive... At least for the words I'm targetting. I mean they're double or triple (at the least) searchfeed and 7search.. The prices are almost comparable to Adwords, except you probably don't even get as much exposure as Adwords.

Adcenter has a keyword tool integrated into the account interface. Click on the "Research" tab.

shizzle, n/m you meant how much to bid. Just bid according to what position you want. Click on 'price estimation' under keyword performance.

Same here. I have used them for affiliate stuff and to promote some eZines and the traffic converts fine, there's just fuck all of it!

It can be sparse to get traffic, but if you are willing to go beyond 5 cent bids (that seems to be where everyone is at the moment, so not really viable unless you put together massive keyword lists and even then there is not enough traffic in a ot of cases). I have found by focusing on specific words and writing specific ads my click-throughs have shot up astronomically with them.

I can take the same keyword, same bid price and run it on a broader ad but very related and get almost no clicks. Pull it out into its own order write a very specific ad and clicks increased 5000%. Like I said, the broader ad was not off-topic and was relevant, just not as specific.

Some traffic sources seem more friendly to broader ad matching, and MSN does not seem to be one of them, at least not for me.

Thanks for the info. I had called AdCenter support about not seeing my ad up even though it was approved and the rep said it takes some time for it to get into the live search system. I asked if it should at leat show up on the last search page since I'm bidding the minimum and he said it will actually show up on the first page for a little bit since AdCenter gives new adds preference.

Can anyone confirm that happening? Even though the new Ad might only be on the 1st page for a short time it seems unfair to the other advertisers that are bidding high. This would also seem to cause people to keep submitting new ads and taking down there old ones so they make the front page for .05 bids constantly.

I just blogged today about a study that was done comparing traffic, clicks, CPA and ROI between MSN and YSM.

Good study cuz they used clients from 4 different markets so you can get a good cross section of results. Worth a peak!

I've been using MSN for a couple months to drive traffic to 5 star. I also use G, YSM and Adbrite. But I'm so busy I have not had time to even check my MSN STATS! Just keep putting more money in. I don't think Ive ever even logged in. Just lettin my $$ ride. Bad Linda!!!

AdWords and MSN AdCenter will push a new ad towards the top to determine its CTR among other things. It will run an ad with a higher CTR, yet lower bid, over an ad with the converse because at the end of the day, it makes them more money.

SE Profit Per Display = CTR * CPC Price
