I ran a petition a little while back. I pushed it for a few days, then got lazy. This time I am wanting to do better. I re-wrote the page for the new petition, made a new simple poll. Addressed that users get a free jersey only after voting (so they know the link will be there instead of voting and missing it). I opened the comments to get people talking and coming back. I allowed pingbacks to get other blogs hitting me. I added share-this to hit the social networks.

Now - Welcome to Free Favre, the online petition. : Free Favre is back online.

Does anyone with experience have any ideas on how to make this better. Just curious. I plan to hit up a few popular sites like myespn and other sports blogs. Hit a few sports forums. Toss some videos on youtube (watermarked). And anything else I can think of. Last time I got a nice spike in traffic when I worked at it. Now it has died to like 10/day. So now its time for version 2.0

If you're just planning on running it as a thin poll site it might do. You'd have to get PPC traffic to play that game, I'd think.

If you had a bigger site, you could do a press release, maybe get Dugg/etc. Put in a bio of Favre and a timeline of events. You could getget a lot of Packer/Jet/Favre traffic and pimp higher payout offers. Sell "Free Favre" shirts maybe? Maybe have them sign up for an newsletter related to the whole Favre controversy. I'd just research trademarks and copyrights and such so the NFL doesn't send goons to turn your tight end into a wide receiver.

lol at "goons to turn your tight end into a wide receiver". I have thought about adding content to the site, and SEO to grab search engine traffic. I really just wanted to spam the link around, and catch some leads. Let the page sit for a few more months. Then redo the whole site when I get time, boost it up, get a PR, and sell the site. It is a site for lazy cash.

Really? Remove the adsense? damn, i thought it was slick tucking it in there...
