Don't ask why, but I randomly woke up in the middle of the night with an idea for promoting one of the Google biz opps. It's kind of Gary Halbert inspired. It involves direct mail, which I know dick about, so maybe with some help I could get this off the ground.

So first I would need the mailing list, some target audience who would think sitting on your ass posting links can actually make you rich. I send each person a personal letter. Attached to the top of the letter is a check from Google for $275 or whatever. Obviously not a real check, but not like fraudulent fake where they'd actually try to cash it. It would say on the check that it's not real. It would just be for initial shock value - at very first glance it looks like they're getting a check from Google. Then the letter would go on to say something like "This is not an actual check from Google, but it certainly could be if you want..." blah blah blah, here's how to get started making money with Google.

I know I would have to make it painfully obvious that it's not an actual check to be cashed cause let's face it, the potential biz opp customers aren't exactly nuclear physicists. Thoughts?

Edit: Damn, Gary's site doesn't usually look like that. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Seems like this would work well if you have a targeted audience to mail to. Use that font on the front that is cursive and looks exactly like real penmanship but is typed so that at least they will open it rather than just pitching it out.

At 34 cents or whatever it is now to snail mail and probably another 20 or so for paper and an envelope it could rack up start up cost quite a bit.

Sounds like a good idea though, I think that the success will be how targeted your mailing list is. Just make sure you write a damn good letter and proof read that thing like 10 times before you print them all out. I think there might be a discount if you ship them presorted.

I would have thought that snail mail spam would have died long ago, but people are still doing it I guess so it must be making money.
