I've been reading a lot about affiliate marketing, and I'm getting ready to take the jump. One question keeps coming to mind. Do you guys have a different domain for each of your campaigns, or do you create different landing pages on the same domain?

I hope my question isn't TOO noobish!

Multiple domains per campaign. Just start out with one per campaign until you find a profitable campaign and go from there. Don't use the same domain for every new campaign you test.

Can I ask why you suggest multiple domains? At work we have over 150 landing pages off the same domain - all off the same subdomain also.

We've tried other domains but the QS for the same campaign goes up when we use a subdomain on our main site.

Test different domains for better CTR. I took one of my campaigns from 5% CTR to 7% CTR just by testing different domains.

domain matters a lot to user perceived relevancy. Lets say your bidding on ringtones and you have the domain RockinRingtones.com. That is going to get a much higher CTR then some obscure general domain like jesusspeaks.com/ringtones

I suggest picking 2-3 verical areas you want to work in then start with general domains for those. Like InsuranceAdvisor.com or something similar if you were going to play in the insurance niche. AutoAdvisor.com, myLoanAdvisor.com or whatever other verticals. This leaves it pretty wide open for testing diffferent stuff in that veritcal. You can just add another page pretty easily.

Then as you begin to get the campaign nailed down more and more and realize the offer actual converts that's when you buy a few domains and start split testing. One of my favorite things to do is just buy a typo for the real domain. monytree.com vs. moneytree.com then they think they're on the same site when they get to your lander and move forward.

Success,
