This is an unsolicited review of Tyler Lemieux's banner/header/ad designing skills. I wanted to share a quick anecdote on how he helped me for the first time and how he can help you.
Here are the results:

As all of you now know (thanks subigo) I own ChromeSpot.com. When Google announced the Chrome Browser I debated if I should jump on the opportunity... it could be a golden one but I'm already SOOO overloaded with work.
Screw it. I woke up in the morning and decided I needed to give it a shot. The most I had to lose was a day. I put up an SMF forum as quick as possible, found a lightweight theme, put that sucker up and started cranking away.
It looked rather crappy, to be honest. Had *I* visited the site, I would have seen a limited number of posts, crappy design and peaced out. Hmmmm... if I had some type of logo or header/banner image and made it look legit, my chances of converting visitors to members would multiply 10 fold.
HEY TYLER. I hit him up on AIM (tylerlemieux) and asked if he could help - I had never worked with him before. I gave him a quick description of what I wanted, an image to go from and it seemed in the blink of an eye he had a finished product that looked EXACTLY how I wanted. I slapped it on my forum and the memberships started to roll in.
Timing is everything... and Tyler coupled timing with quality... and at a bargain. I don't want to say how much I paid for that "logo" - I'll let Tyler discuss price with you. But I PROMISE you that Tyler offers the best quality at an affordable price that I've seen in a long while. That's why I'm writing this review for him - I was impressed.
I since have moved to vBulletin and had to fubar my logo to fit into the new scheme... I'll probably be asking Tyler for a recolor and toss a few bucks his way. Its well worth it. Designing isn't my "competitive advantage" so rather than waste my time doing a subpar job... I outsource. Any good business will outsource things they don't do well and finding a solid list of reliable suppliers is essential. I've added Tyler to my "reliable suppliers" list.
Skip forward a couple weeks. Google is now launching "Android" on the 23rd. Anyone who has clicked through on my sig knows I'm somewhat obsessed with Android- and have been since Nov 2007. I started AndroidForums.com awhile back and expecting a surge of interest, I knew I needed a Banner that didn't totally suck.
HEY TYLER! Within one day and a couple back and forths I had a header graphic that I could NEVER had made myself and that I LOVE. Not only does it make my site look 100 times more authentic and official, but it makes it more enjoyable to visit and browse.
Looks aren't everything... but I want my website to have more than a nice personality.
So there you have it. Spend a few bucks and improve the asthetics of your websites. Tyler can help, affordably, and I bet you it will improve the number of return visitors in the long run. Since your'e spending time and money to get those visitors to your site to begin with... you're really just making a smart investment.
