Need advice: Is writing an E-Book worth it?

Hey there, I'm incredibly new to the whole Internet Marketing situation. I do have a website (roughly put together by ad hoc WP learning), but that's the only foray I have done into the realm of the internet.

My niche is Academic services, as in, tuition for University subjects (which I am yet to figure out how to target to specific university courses, but perhaps use of social media), as well as proof-reading and editing services.

But how does that have anything to do with an e-book? Well I thought as well to produce an informational product on how to write an essay, a guide, but one that has more value than the free ones available on educational websites.

I'm in fact too embarrased to give away the site as of yet, but PM if you actually care :P.

Cheers.

You should fix that FIRST!

Write a guide "How to get an A+ on every test"

Or you know, something cool like that. I think it'd be hard to sell an ebook on essay writing unless you, well, sold it really well. Put in some nice testimonials/etc.

Yah, "How To Write an Essay" is boring.

How To Get an A on Every Paper! is better.

People will pay for information, but it's all in the presentation.

If you want to write and ebook are you outsourcing it? If you are you would be wasting money if you set it up as an ebook assignment. You are better of dividing everything into small articles. Make a summary and then outsource the content writing.

Make sure there is demand before you waste time or money writing an eBook.

Trust me, I've written lots of eBooks, and all the ones that make the most
money are the ones I had a target audience for.

If you write something and try to convince people who aren't looking for it to
buy it, you will fail.
