I am amazed at how much info is available on this web site! I have been reading way too much over the past few days trying to soak it all in. I would have to say this is THE best forum on affiliate marketing hands down
Enough kissing up, here's the real question:
I have a computer repair business, so computers and technology are my life (besides making money) So, I thought I would try to make some money online with that knowledge. I created a web site (spywarebible.com) to teach people about spyware with the intentions of making money off of affiliate sales of products I review (Norton, McAfee, AdAware, etc.) but all of these programs pay squat! Plus it's a lot of work reviewing each of those programs and rating them.
I did all of this before I got a true understanding of what affiliate marketing is (never heard of arbi at that time). So now I am rethinking what I am doing in terms of making money in the technology industry.
BTW I am already "enrolled" in the Winter 2007 Case Study and have read tons of articles about aff marketing and arbi so I am definitely getting schooled in those areas.
(OK here's the question finally)
How can I make money in the technology industry? In terms of computer parts you would have to compete with sites like NewEgg and everyboy else. Software you have to watch out for all the pirated programs. I will be using my SpywareBible web site in the Winter 2007 Case Study so I know I will be doing AdSense there. Am I missing anything?
I have already tried my hand at aff marketing and lost several hundred dollars. I am using Azoogle for my offers, I got leads using AdWords, but I never turned a profit so I have put that on hold until I get a better grasp of what I am doing.
I know it's a very broad question, but any help is appreciated.
