In answer to your question, you need to read every sticky trhread in the affiliate marketing section and pay special attention to anything to do with landing page optimisation and PPC. There's a couple of good case studies in the archives too.

OK well this interests me! I have 40k to invest so what are my chances of getting 4k in profit by the end of the second week? Well, you could do blogging (see the guide in Affiliate Marketing Page). In this blog you could review the products in question and link them to the sellers page. Just a thought...
