Hello and thank you for any help in advance,

This is my progress so far:
-Chose a niche (4-7k searches per keyword a month according to google keywords)
-Made Wordpress site
-Filled with content/amazon affilate links
-Now currently rank 1,1,2,4 for some keywords

So now what? In the past 2 weeks I haven't gotten any sales. Made tweaks to home page. Should I be monitoring the sites views? As of now I have no idea who is visiting my site.

Edit: Considering putting in one small adsense ad

First, are the 4-7k searches Exact match or did you read the default Broad figure in that tool?

Second, that tool isn't perfect for traffic estimation so don't rely on it.

Third, get an account with Google Analytics or Statcounter (I prefer this) for tracking visitors - how can you not be tracking visitors, it's the #1 thing you need to know.

Fourth, sounds like the keywords are duds and you read the Broad search figure - redo your research and add new content to target proper keywords.

Forget trying to monetise at this point, sort the basics out first and provide some decent content to the 1 or 2 people who are currently finding you per year.

Congratulations on your progress. Now the key is how many visitors are you actually getting. As Telva mentioned, a tool like Analytics, GClicky, or even the default Wordpress stat plugin would be really useful.

Monitor you visitors and see how much time they spend on your site. Use the advices given to you by Telva... Good luck to you!!

- Broad, I just switched it to exact and there is only one keyword that gets more than 1,000 views per month and I am rank 5. If you add together the other keywords looking at maybe 2k searches total.

-Installed Statcounter. Tested and working.

-You're right.

Thank you. Going to give Statcounter a try.
